Countdown to Christmas and Painting mess

Well, it's day 7 of the painting of our home and just 1 more to go. The first coat of paint in the kitchen is now done and some additional patching is drying. So, by tomorrow, we can begin getting this home put back together. I thought I'd take a few pictures of how we are living currently.

Nothing is where it belongs. Paper still up on all the windows as we await the arrival of new blinds. And we will be living with the u-g-l-y carpets until after the holidays, when hopefully we will have the time to select something we both like.

And, since the snow is falling outside and I've been listening to Christmas music, I finally was in the mood for decorate a gingerbread house with the princess while the prince was playing at a hockey game clear across town. I think it turned out pretty cute!
