What makes you happy?

Wow, it's hot in here! But, not as hot as it was this weekend for the golfers in our family. We've just had the 3rd Annual Harrison Family Golf Tournament on Saturday. The golfers headed out to Coyote Creek in Surrey for 18-holes (if you ask Tony, there's also a 19th hole, a.k.a The Club House). This is the huge family from my mother-in-law's side.

The rest of us headed out for some mall shopping. It was sooooo nice to be in the air conditioned comfort of Guildford Town Centre. I was able to pick up some smokin' deals on t-shirts at Jacob and a very cute outfit for my little princess at Old Navy. You gotta love those clearance racks! Then, we regrouped at my sister-in-law's for an awards presentation and BBQ. Yummy food, as always. We overate and caught up with our relatives from Kamloops and Chase.

My munchkins particularly enjoyed themselves with cousins Ryley and Adam. It was very good to see the kids having so much fun together, despite the miles that normally separate them. They get along so well, it makes me happy.

And then, this got me to asking myself "What things make me happy?". And, I'm asking you , my friends, to answer the question "What 10 things make you happy?" They can be little things, or big, doesn't matter, if it brings a smile to your face. Please leave a comment attached to this post by clicking on Comments at the bottom of today's post, or if you've got yourself a blog, post and send me a link. Stop and think about this, because I think that we sometimes forget.

Here's mine, in no particular order:

  1. Getting a few hours to scrapbook.
  2. Enjoying a good cup of java in my great big Mickey Mouse mug...a gift from DS (dear son).
  3. The 2 pieces of Chinese art with calligraphy I had commissioned for my kids' Chinese names
  4. Getting my favourite flower, for no reason, just because.
  5. Hearing from my friends, whether by e-mail, phone or via comments left here.
  6. Rootbeer floats....vanilla ice cream and A&W rootbeer
  7. Sudoku puzzles
  8. Teaching newbies about scrapbooking
  9. Hearing my children's laughter and knowing that they are healthy and happy.
  10. Spending time with that dear husband of mine.

So, I hope you play along. I look forward to seeing if your responses!

So long, farewell!

Amie seemed to think I'd find it difficult to think of 10 things that made me happy, and that just made me sad!! So here they are ...thankfully without too much difficulty as it turned out!

~ Travelling - anywhere! All new experiences give me a thrill.

~ Coffee and cookies

~ Dogs - seeing them, meeting them, playing with them.

~ Being outside on sunny hot days, with no chores to spoil it

~ Cooking a new and unusual recipe

~ Christmas - the food, the family, the songs (ok they get a bit annoying in the end), the shopping...all of it!

~ Hugs and kisses from my hubby :)

~ Long one on one conversations with good friends

~ Bears! Just so furry and cute and yet so dangerous at the same time!

~ Being creative with crafts - but never seem to find enough time to do it...

I like the mug, the pics and flower...very nice.

Okay...ten things that make me happy
1. ice caps
2. time alone to recupe after the kids have gone to bed
3. camping in non-isolated areas of BC with friends
4. mountain biking with the kids
5. step class...im so addicted to step class
6. when the kids get along all at the same time
7. cuddling with my kids on saturday mornings
8. going to movies with friends and family
9. walking along the beach with hubby on our anniversary last week
10. my four day weekends because I only work tuesday to thursdays.

This was not a hard as i thought it would be...although, the thing that would make me the happiest is if i would get off my butt and get my licence...right Amie?? thanks for the challenge...i needed it.

Okay so I read this last week but life has been crazy so I finally have time to write out what makes me happy (funny the morning I read this our "cranky" neighbour was out yelling at Andrew at 6am about something so silly.... she's definately someone who never thinks about what makes her happy!)

Here we go:

1) Big hugs from my girls

2) Sitting around the firepit eating gooey marshmallows

3) Starbucks.... ahhhh....sugar-free non fat latte!

4) Running on my treadmill (without any interuptions!)

5) Riding my bike with Andrew

6) Dreaming of our move back to Vancouver in about 2 years....

7) Sudoko puzzles

8) Taking pictures

9) Singing Karaoke with the girls (and doing the dance mats although I'm still pretty bad at it!)

10) Long walks with Andrew on the seawall

-reconnecting with a dear friend

-My morning Americano

-Disney World..especially this November with the boys & the Hamilton's
