July birthdays

A big Happy Birthday to my friend Gabby!

To celebrate we went out for a lunch and movie. We had a great sushi lunch at Taisho's before heading upstairs at Metropolis to see The Devil Wears Prada. Wow, did I see some great clothes, shoes and bags ever! And it was most definitely a chick flick, as Tony calls them.

And here's a picture of the card that I made for G, which I have now named the Gabriela2006....

I've decided that I will name my cards after my friends and family, if they agree. Today, G gave me permission to use her name, which I've always thought is such a feminine name. Perfectly suited to this card, in my humble opinion.

And someone asked to see the cupcakes I made for dear daughter's birthday, so here they are....

This is a very busy month in our family for birthdays, so we shall be eating a LOT of cake over the next few weeks.
Tony has started our kitchen improvement project. He has now taken apart the awful flourescent lighting box or whatever it's called. It had a metal frame with the plastic covers. This has opened it up visually. We will be painting in a yellow called Applesauce and plan to accent with blue accessories, tea towels, etc. I can't wait for it to be done.
And Sarah will soon get some big girl bedding, after Grandma makes up her new quilt and coordinating curtains. We found the cutest fabric with dragonflies. It will be beautiful.
Well, I'm going to stop rambling on, since I'm desparately in need of sleep after Sarah woke me a few times last night. Good night all!
