HAPPY 30-SOMETHINGTH BIRTHDAY BRENDA !!!
OMG it was hot yesterday! And today, the experts are saying it will be up to 35 degrees C by the water, and 40 degrees C in the valley.
This weekend was fun, because of the sunny weather. On Saturday, we packed up the kids and headed to Crescent Beach. Crescent Beach is where Tony and I were married, at Sullivan Point. And since we both forgot to bring our camera (the shame of it!, my head is still hanging, bad scrapbooker's moment), here are some photos I found online.
I hope you can see why it's our favourite beach. It has the beauty of White Rock, without the large crowds. In fact, what you see in the sunset pic, is what we saw during our wedding dinner. We were in fact, at the same spot as where this photo was taken, from Pelagos Restaurant. One day, I will have to post some of our wedding pics.
Sunday was a good, busy day. I woke in the morning to the monumental task of getting something like a 100 pounds (but in reality, only 20) of strawberries to get ready for freezing. Every year, my mother-in-law will go to a berry farm in Langley and bring home anywhere from 45 to 60 pounds of strawberries and raspberries, and divies it up for her family. It was a lot of work, but we are always thankful, when in the middle of December, we are able to make strawberry powershakes for Ryan before a big game. And of course, there's always waffles, with strawberries and whipped cream. Yummy! Then, off to a pool party for Ryan's ball hockey season wrapup. The kids had a great time. And since yesterday was my sister Brenda's birthday, we got together for a BBQ dinner. If you haven't tried Maui ribs, I highly recommend it. You can get them at a good price at Costco's.
I hope you all had a good weekend. And mad-Monday will be over soon enough.
Toodles!
