Catching a breather

Wow, the last 3 weeks have passed in a blur!
I've been working at two different offices since the New Year, and it's so busy at both that I've not had any energy to post to my blogs. But, I shouldn't complain because, as of this week, I only work 32 hours per week. Now, 8 hours might not seem like much of a difference to some, but for me, it has been fantastic. I've been catching up on laundry and housework that I've been procrastinating about. So, I just may have some real family time coming up. Instead of spending weekends running errands and taking care of chores, I can take care of it during the week. And as some of you know, weekdays at the stores are a lot more sane.
Hockey playoffs have started for the team, so we are playing between 2-3 games per week, plus practice times and one extra skills development session per week. That's a lot of hockey, even for a hockey mom. As I write this post, hubby is already in bed, since he has to wake at 5am to get himself and the kiddo to the arena for practice. Can we say dedication? Both Tony and Ry are so into this sport. AND they have to watch all of the NHL games!
We recently had a last minute visit with our friends, the Watsons, who drove up to Vancouver on a whim. Very nice. I just love when I can sit, have a cup of coffee with a friend, and just chat. Just wish I could experience that more often!
And we received some very heart wrenching news about a friend who recently found out that she is terminally ill. And the hard part is that the docs can't say how long she has before leaving this earth. Such a young, beautiful person....my heart aches when I think about her. I wish I could say who it is, but she has yet to tell all of her friends.
I'm hoping that the New Year (Chinese, that is) will bring some happier times.
So, in case I don't post again before Feb. 18th.....
Gung Hey Fat Choy!
